One evening, while I was sitting quietly at home, a large bird of prey landed on the roof above me. There was a sudden mad rush of pigeons fleeing from the roof. I went outside to see what had happened, and there he was, just looking down at me with complete indifference. I grabbed a flashlight to get a better look, and, indeed, I could hardly believe it. He wasn’t at all bothered by the light and stayed put, still gazing indifferently at my cat.
I’m starting to worry that I might wake up one day with one less cat. Such an impressive bird, big and beautifully orange eyes.
